What is Nova Scotia Walk Day?

A FREE event celebrating how walking connects us to our communities and each other.

Why Participate?

Enjoy the many physical, social and mental health benefits of connecting with members of your community in a gentle, friendly walk. You also get to visit Kiwanis Park which is a small but picturesque park located in the west end of Truro ideal for walking and jogging, picnics, photography and watching the ducks. There are multiple benches along this paved path and 2.5 laps around the pond is equal to 1.6km.

Why Walking?

Walking is the most underrated form of exercise! Science shows that placing one foot in front of the other leads to some seriously impressive mental and physical benefits. Walking, and especially walking in groups, is the perfect activity for a person’s physical, mental, and social well-being. Connecting with people in your community and moving your body means you are better able to do the things you love.

What is Qigong?

Qigong (pronounced chee-gung) is based on repetitions of sets of movements, designed to benefit health on many levels. Even a few minutes of practice can have an invigorating and rejuvenating effect.
