Development Agreement Approval Notice
Pursuant to the Municipal Government Act, notice is hereby given that on October 7, 2024, Town Council approved the following Development Agreement Applications:
- 179 Queen Street
Development Agreement Application by Lindsay Construction/Fathom Studios on behalf of Stanfield’s Ltd to permit a mixed-use development consisting of 221 dwelling units and 377 m2 (4,053 ft2) of commercial space on lands at 179 Queen Street (PID no. 20183232 and a portion of 20183166 and 20479770).
- 1 Logan Street/9 Bayview Street
Development Agreement Application by Lindsay Construction/Fathom Studios on behalf of Stanfield’s Ltd to permit a mixed-use development consisting of 381 dwelling units and 4789 m2 (51,545 ft2) of commercial space on lands at 1 Logan Street and 9 Bayview Street (PID nos. 20479747, 20183166, 20479754, 20196648, 20479770, and 20479762). The proposal includes new buildings and renovated/repurposed industrial buildings along with approximately 6,350 m2 (68,350 ft2) of publicly accessible space along the Salmon River.

This decision is appealable to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board within fourteen days of the date of this notice.

Notice - Public Hearing - Development Agreement Application
Take notice that Town Council will hold two public hearings to consider and, if deemed appropriate, approve the following development agreement applications:
- 179 Queen Street
Development Agreement Application by Lindsay Construction/Fathom Studios on behalf of Stanfields Ltd to permit a mixed-use development consisting of 221 dwelling units and 377 m2 (4,053 ft2) of commercial space on lands at 179 Queen Street (PID no. 20183232 and a portion of 20183166 and 20479770). The proposed building features an 11-storey and a 6-storey section on a common 4-storey base.
- 1 Logan Street/9 Bayview Street
Development Agreement Application by Lindsay Construction/Fathom Studios on behalf of Stanfields Ltd to permit a mixed-use development consisting of 381 dwelling units and 4789 m2 (51,545 ft2) of commercial space on lands at 1 Logan Street and 9 Bayview Street (PID nos. 20479747, 20183166, 20479754, 20196648, 20479770, and 20479762). The proposal includes new buildings and renovated/repurposed industrial buildings along with approximately 6,350 m2 (68,350 ft2) of publicly accessible space along the Salmon River. The development features building sections that are 6, 8, and 11 storeys tall.
This public hearing will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers on the 3rd floor of the Town Hall, 695 Prince Street.
At the public hearing, Council will consider oral and written representations from any interested persons. If you wish to make a formal presentation, please submit a written request to the undersigned no later than October 1, 2024.

Approval Notice - Transportation
Pursuant to Section 169 (2c) of the Municipal Government Act, notice is hereby given that on July 8, 2024, Town Council approved amendments to the Town of Truro “Taxi Bylaw.”
The purpose of the amendment is:
- Include provisions to regulate Transportation Network Companies
- Require taxi driver applicants to provide proof of employment or own a licensed taxi
- Remove the requirement for taxi driver applicants to take an examination on the location of streets and prominent landmarks
- Increase the fees and establish fees for Transport Network Companies set out in Schedule “A”
- Remove the requirement that Taxi Companies have an established place of business for dispatching

Notice: Public Hearing - Bylaw entitled “Taxi Bylaw.”
Pursuant to Section 168 (2) of the Municipal Government Act, notice is hereby given that on June 6, 2024, Council for the Town of Truro gave 1st reading to an amendment to the Bylaw entitled “Taxi Bylaw.”
The purpose of the amendment is:
- Include provisions to regulate Transportation Network Companies
