Seniors Crafternoon
Project: Join us for a delightful crafting session with Carla's Upcycled Creations as we create Quirky Owls! In this fun-filled class, you'll transform simple wooden shapes into whimsical owls using paper, Mod Podge, and paint. Carla will guide you through the process, showing you how to apply decorative paper to wooden bases, use Mod Podge for a smooth finish, and add unique painted details to bring your owls to life. Whether you're a crafting novice or an experienced DIYer, you'll enjoy this creative journey. At the end of the session, you'll have a quirky, upcycled wooden owls that are ready to perch on your shelf or gift to a friend. Sportball Multi-Sport
Date: Varies, once per week
Location: Douglas Street Recreation Centre
In our Multi-Sport programs, children are provided with a skills-driven, high-energy and fun-filled curriculum. Multi-Sport instruction introduces children to the fundamental concepts and skills behind eight popular sports: soccer, hockey, basketball, baseball, volleyball, tennis, golf & football. Using creative instruction and positive encouragement, our programs focus on the development of gross motor skills, along with balance, strength, coordination, stamina and timing. The equipment that we use is age-appropriate and sized just right for the children in our programs.
Classes are held at the Douglas St Recreation Centre and participants attend one session per week for nine weeks.

Join us in this physical play time created especially for families! Preschool-aged children and their guardians have the opportunity to explore various sports equipment and other toys; a great way to stimulate mental and physical growth.

This 1/2 gym, drop-in adult badminton program is supervised by Town of Truro staff and allows for unstructured scrimmage play for those 17 and older.

Adult Basketball
This drop-in adult basketball program is supervised by Town of Truro staff and allows for unstructured 1/2 court scrimmage play for those 17 years of age and older.

Pickleball

Learn to Play Pickleball
This adult program is a great way for brand new players to learn the sport of Pickleball. Players receive 3 x 2hour lessons with certified instructor Ralph Brine. Players will learn all the basics to be able to play. Players will be learning in a fun environment and will experience why pickleball is the fastest growing sport in North America. The course will demonstrate how to do a proper warm-up and cool down, various shots, strategies and footwork. Participants will learn the rules of pickleball and will be well prepared to play recreationally.
