In partnership with Province of Nova Scotia (Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage/ CCTH), YReach, Truro and Colchester Welcome Network, the Community Health Board Truro & Area, and other community partners; we are hosting a Senior and Newcomer Wellness Expo Week in Truro.
This is an inclusive initiative aimed at encouraging movement, wellness, and social connection among older adults aged 55+, and area new comers. Every activity will include a "take-home" component to support ongoing, unstructured physical activity in daily life.
This event directly responds to frequent community requests for a modern version of Truro’s former "Senior Expos"—from both currently engaged and less-active older adults. The same request is often made by newcomers and newcomer-supporting organizations.
November 3rd through November 7th- Wellness TRY-IT Sessions
The event will coincide with National Seniors Safety Week (November 6–12, 2025) and feature daily drop-in, try-it-style physical activity sessions, along with opportunities to learn about wellness supports and social engagement options available in Truro and area. Try-it sessions will be held from November 3-7 2025.
