snowing

The Town of Truro is responsible for street and sidewalk maintenance and snow cleaning. During the winter months, the Town maintains over 93 km of streets and 73 km of sidewalks. Snow storms create delays, inconveniences, and safety concerns. Residents are responsible for clearing their own driveways and walkways and must do so without depositing snow and ice onto the street or sidewalk area.

In order to assist the snow plow and sidewalk plow operators, please ensure items placed for garbage and recycling collection are placed to the rear of the sidewalk, well clear of the street, without obstructing the roadway or sidewalk areas. (C) Nothing in the foregoing regulations shall, however, apply to:
(i) The Motor Vehicle of a physician or surgeon parking reasonably near their office or residence and immediately available for professional calls.
