Town of Truro Celebrating Grand Opening of Railyard Pump Track
The Town of Truro invites residents and visitors to celebrate the official grand opening of the Railyard Pump Track on Friday, July 17, 2026.
The celebration will take place at 2:30 p.m. at the pump track, located within the Railyard Mountain Bike Park. The event will include opening remarks, greetings from community representatives, an official ribbon cutting, a photo opportunity, and a community ride to mark the opening of this new recreational feature.
The Railyard Pump Track provides an accessible and exciting space for riders of all ages and skill levels to build confidence, develop cycling skills, and enjoy outdoor recreation in the community.
Additions to the Railyard Mountain Bike Park were outlined in the Railyard Master Plan, which was supported by Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and completed in 2019. From there, ACOA supported the implementation of the first two phases of this plan to enhance the Park and create tourism opportunities while maximizing economic impact for the community. Completion of the pump track is the final element of this multi-year project, which was supported through a $434,670 investment from the Innovative Communities Fund (ICF).
“The Railyard shows how investments in outdoor recreation can create new opportunities for communities. The Government of Canada is proud to support projects that create inclusive, accessible spaces for people to be active while strengthening local tourism and regional economies. This new pump track gives riders of all ages a place to build their skills, while adding to Truro’s appeal as a destination for mountain biking and active tourism. Congratulations to everyone who helped bring this project to life,” said Alana Hirtle, Member of Parliament for Cumberland—Colchester.
“The Pump Track is a great addition to our community, creating a space where residents and visitors of all ages can enjoy outdoor recreation. We are grateful for the support from ACOA and the partnerships that helped make this project possible” said Mayor Cathy Hinton.
