Canada Parks Day

Canada Parks Day

In honour of Canada Parks Day and having such a beautiful park in the heart of town, Truro Parks Recreation and Culture hosts a Canada Parks Day Celebration each year in Victoria Park. On the 3rd Saturday of July each year. This 2024 event will take place on Saturday, July 20th, 2024.

Join us for an action-packed day at Victoria Park filled with fun activities and entertainment for all ages!

 
Victoria Park Challenge Kids Run

12:30-1:30pm - Victoria Park Challenge Kids Run - One of our Parks Day events is the VP Challenge. The Victoria Park Challenge is a children's race that integrates a series of challenging obstacles. Participants are tested on their stamina and agility as they navigate a scenic route through the lower area of Victoria Park in an unforgettable race. 

Age Categories
Ages 9-11 - This race is is roughly 3km's long; participants will get to do a trail run and then complete the obstacles in the ball field.
Ages 7-8 - This race is is roughly 1km long, they will get to do a bit of a trail run and then complete the obstacles in the ball field.
Ages 5-6 - This race is confined to the baseball field in Victoria Park; they will do two loops of obstacles.
Ages 3-4 - This race is confined to the baseball field in Victoria Park.
