The Cobequid Trail is a 16 km walking and cycling trail network throughout Truro and Colchester. The trail takes you along the former rail line, through the Acadain dykelands, past farmlands, and along the Salmon River, which leads to the Bay of Fundy.
Access the Cobequid Trail from one of the following trailheads:
- Old Barns trailhead, 919 Shore Road, Old Barns
- Cobequid Bay Lookoff trailhead, 3471 Highway 236, Lower Truro
- Lower Truro trailhead, 4057 Highway 236, Lower Truro
- Fundy Discovery Site trailhead, 103 Tidal Bore Road, Lower Truro

The Old Barns, Lower Truro and Truro sections of the Cobequid Trail are part of the Blue Route and the Trans Canada Trail.
Truro’s Riverfront Park - situated along the Salmon River beside the bridge linking Truro and Bible Hill - is an attractive and welcoming park which serves as a gateway into Truro’s downtown. This picturesque park boasts a gazebo, lighting, picnic tables and gardens. It is a popular spot for public and family gatherings, outdoor concerts, weddings, photography, and more.

The Tim Horton’s Skate Park is located at the end of Exhibition Street, off Brunswick Street and adjacent to the rail line. This fenced park is a popular destination for those of all ages riding skateboards, bikes, and scooters.
Helmets are required for all riders and other protective gear is encouraged.
The Herb Peppard Park is located at 36-38 Alice Street, and is named after a distinguished World War II veteran and long-time resident of Truro’s east end. This neighbourhood park includes a fenced-in playground, a small garden, and various benches.
