Yesterday, Town Council approved Truro’s new Community Plan, which includes the Town’s Municipal Planning Strategy (MPS) and Land Use Bylaw. The Community Plan will now be sent to the Province of Nova Scotia for final review. The new plan will become effective once the Town receives approval from the province and the Town posts an approval notice in the local paper.

During the Public Council Meeting yesterday, Mayor Bill Mills thanked all citizens for their participation throughout the engagement process and stated, “the process (of the Land Use Bylaw and MPS) has resulted in the most studied document in the history of the Town of Truro, without a doubt.”

Again, we wish to thank all citizens for the input, feedback and participation throughout the past two years.
