Minimum Building and Housing Maintenance Standards Bylaw
Pursuant to Section 168(2) of the Municipal Government Act, notice is hereby given that on April 8, 2024, Town Council gave the first reading to amend the Minimum Building and Housing Maintenance Standards Bylaw. The purpose of the amendment is to allow for more timely enforcement, reduce limitations for expedited enforcement against repeat offenders of the Bylaw, and allow for the Bylaw Enforcement Officer to enforce the Bylaw in addition to the Building Inspectors.
Council proposes to consider this amendment, and the second reading will occur on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers on the 3rd Floor of the Town Hall, 695 Prince Street.
Details of this amendment are available at the Planning and Development Office, 695 Prince Street, 2nd floor, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Truro Heritage Awards

The Town of Truro Heritage Advisory Committee is accepting nominations for its annual Heritage Award.
Recognition is given to projects that celebrate, conserve, and enhance Truro’s natural and built heritage, including preservation, reconstruction, restoration, adaptation, additions, and construction and demonstrate a commitment to quality in terms of aesthetics, design, and artistry.

The communities of Colchester, Truro, Stewiacke and Millbrook First Nation are introducing STEP (Sustainable Tourism Expansion Plan) – a regional tourism development planning process!
We invite you to join other community and business members in a facilitated session to help identify our inherent community strengths as we work towards growing our economy through tourism.

We want to hear from you and discuss ways to enhance this place we call home!
We welcome you to attend one of our STEP launch sessions, meet our STEP consultant, learn how this project will lay a foundation to grow the regional tourism economy and have an opportunity to provide input into what you’d like to see accomplished.
