Take notice that Town Council will hold two public hearings to consider and, if deemed appropriate, approve the following development agreement applications:

  • 125 Willow Street - Development Agreement Application by 3331111 Nova Scotia Limited to permit Multi-unit residential development consisting of a 4-storey building containing 50 dwelling units and below grade parking at 135 Willow Street (PID No. 20161410) and (125 Willow PID No. (20161436).
  • 24 Louise Street-Development Agreement Application by Yada Property Management to add an additional bachelor residential dwelling unit to the existing 15-unit multi-unit residential development at 24 Louise Street (PID 20182770).

These public hearings will be held on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers on the 3rd floor of the Town Hall, 695 Prince Street.

At the public hearings, Council will consider oral and written representations from any interested persons. If you wish to make a formal presentation, please submit a written request to the undersigned no later than April 30, 2024.

Minimum Building and Housing Maintenance Standards Bylaw 

Pursuant to Section 168(2) of the Municipal Government Act, notice is hereby given that on April 8, 2024, Town Council gave the first reading to amend the Minimum Building and Housing Maintenance Standards Bylaw. The purpose of the amendment is to allow for more timely enforcement, reduce limitations for expedited enforcement against repeat offenders of the Bylaw, and allow for the Bylaw Enforcement Officer to enforce the Bylaw in addition to the Building Inspectors.

Council proposes to consider this amendment, and the second reading will occur on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers on the 3rd Floor of the Town Hall, 695 Prince Street.
