Truro, NS – September 23, 2024 – The Town of Truro is pleased to provide an update on the ongoing repairs and renovations at the Colchester Legion Stadium following the extensive damage caused by Hurricane Fiona. We recognize the importance of this facility to our community and greatly appreciate the public’s continued patience as work progresses.
Construction is advancing steadily, with significant progress being made on interior work and finishes. Major upgrades to essential systems, including HVAC, electrical, and life safety, are currently underway to ensure the stadium meets modern standards. This complex renovation involves multiple parties collaborating to rebuild after the storm's impact and many factors are outside of the Town’s control.
Along with the repairs left to complete, a new ice plant arrived over the weekend and was craned into place, with installation set to begin shortly.
The anticipated date for reopening the facility to the public is December 1, 2024.
The community’s support and understanding during this time have been invaluable, and we remain committed to restoring and enhancing this important facility for all residents to enjoy.
