For ten years, hundreds of people have gathered at the J. Arch Fraser bandshell to enjoy the Sunday in the Park Concert Series, presented by Truro Parks, Recreation and Culture. Each Sunday from July until Labour Day weekend in September, people of all ages enjoy live entertainment from 2:00 - 4:00 pm. There are special concerts scheduled for Labour Day weekend each summer as well.

Each summer, Truro Parks Recreation and Culture hosts mid-summer Movie Nights in Victoria Park. A popular attraction for locals and tourists alike, the movies are shown on a 20-foot screen at the park's J. Arch Fraser Bandshell. Hundreds of people gather each year to take in classic, new and family-friendly movies while enjoying the fresh summer air. Please bring your own chair.
Movies start at dusk approx. 8:45 - 9:00 pm.
Complimentry healthy snacks provided in partnership with the Truro & Area Community Health Board.

In honour of Canada Parks Day and having such a beautiful park in the heart of town, Truro Parks Recreation and Culture hosts a Canada Parks Day Celebration each year in Victoria Park. On the 3rd Saturday of July each year. The 2025 event will take place on Saturday, July 19th, 2025.
One of our Parks Day events is the VP Challenge. The Victoria Park Challenge is a children's race that integrates a series of challenging obstacles. Participants are tested on their stamina and agility as they navigate a scenic route through the lower area of Victoria Park in an unforgettable race. Registration is now OPEN for this free children's event!
Age Categories:
Ages 3-4 - This race is confined to the baseball field in Victoria Park.
Ages 5-6 - This race is confined to the baseball field in Victoria Park; they will do two loops of obstacles.
Ages 7-8 - This race is is roughly 1km long, they will get to do a bit of a trail run and then complete the obstacles in the ball field.
Ages 9-11 - This race is is roughly 3km's long; participants will get to do a bit of a trail run and then complete the obstacles in the ball field.
