...In 2024, the County of Colchester and the Town of Truro, along with the partnership of the Town of Stewiacke and Millbrook First Nation, proactively facilitated Tourism Atlantic’s (ACOA) Strategic Tourism Expansion Program (STEP) process to create a Regional Strategic Tourism Plan for the region. The Plan, which was approved by each partner in February and March 2025, addresses existing opportunities and challenges and lays the foundation for long-term initiatives to ensure responsible and sustainable success for the region’s communities, citizens, and tourism sector.

Now that the STEP strategy has been adopted by each partner, we are collectively working towards the development of the Central Nova Scotia Tourism Development Society. We are currently accepting applications for the inaugural Board of Directors. This new regional organization will help guide the use of Marketing Levy funds and lead implementation of the Truro-Colchester STEP Tourism Plan. More information on the application process can be found below.

Registration is now open for the Fundy Region 55+ Games. The games are happening all over the region from June 1st-15th. The Fundy 55+ Games are open to all Fundy Region Residents, Ages 55 and better. The Fundy Region includes all communities within Cumberland, Colchester, and East Hants counties.
To register, you can fill out the pdf registration form(4.40 MB) and head to one of the registration sites, or you can go online to register on Eventbrite by searching Fundy 55+ Games.
