...The Civic Square is located at 740 Prince Street and features a large, flexible open space that makes it perfect for public gatherings and community events. Find a quiet place to relax with a good book, enjoy a picnic lunch from a downtown restaurant, or enjoy one of the many festivals or events that take place here.
During the winter months, the large green space is converted to a large skating oval, available for free public use. The skating oval is open from dawn to dusk, closing for short periods throughout the day for routine maintenance. No advance booking is required, but please respect the posted rules and regulations. Skates can be borrowed through the Town's Equipment Loan Program.
The square is available to book for events through Truro’s Parks, Recreation, and Culture Department.

The Railyard Mountain Bike Park is located in Truro's Victoria Park and contains over 40 km of bike trails.
Located minutes from downtown Truro, here you will some of the best mountain biking trails in Nova Scotia. The park is a free public facility and provides mountain biking opportunities for all skill levels, from beginners to "extreme" riders.
Cyclists are urged to use caution when using park trails and to yield to pedestrians as required. Cyclists are also reminded to stay on defined hard-surface trails to prevent damage to environmentally sensitive areas of the park.
The majority of trails in the Railyard Mountain Bike Park are open for recreational use. We continue to ask the public to follow all trail signage, as we will close individual trails to remove fallen trees and repair infrastructure during the upcoming months/years.
Please be advised that some trails remain closed due to extensive damage.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation!
For more information on the Railyard, including activities, features, rules and regulations, parking, hours of operation and more, visit Railyard Mountain Bike Park.
In 2019, the Town of Truro completed a Master Plan for the Railyard Mountain Bike Park. The Master Plan focuses on a strategic, proactive and long-term approach to park management and development opportunities.
